Frequently asked questions and comments:

(March 18)

1) Can Prom and Gradfest be two separate events?

Ans: Not this year. The Prom and Gradfest will be combined into one event.

Planning has been difficult. However, by combining the events, we are able to plan a wonderful celebration that all Grads are welcome to attend! The first half of the event will be a formal Prom; while the second half will be a more casual Gradfest.

2) Will the event allow everyone to attend together or be in smaller groups (time slots)?

Ans: A full capacity event is being planned, where all Grads will be able to attend together, at the same time.

3) Will Grads be able to bring a guest who is not graduating this year, (and who may not be from Fort St. John)?

Ans: Yes. Guests will be allowed, but more to come on this.

4) Will the Event be Formal or Casual?

Ans: Both. The first half of the night will be a formal Prom celebration with dinner and dance. The second half will be a more casual Gradfest event with games (Grads can either change into more casual wear or stay in their formal wear. There will be a secure coat check that will accommodate your change of clothes, as well as any prizes you may win throughout the night!)

5) Donated Formal Wear (or rentals)?

Ans: Please contact your school’s Student Services to either donate or acquire formal wear.

More on this to come.

6) Alcohol?

Ans: No alcohol or recreational drugs will be permitted at the Event. Anyone with these substances will be removed from the Event. Parents WILL, and Police MAY, be notified. All persons will be escorted from the premises.

7) How will the Event work?

Ans: The Event Schedule: Promfest 5:00 pm – 4:00 am

This will include a formal dinner, dance, stage performances, games, prizes and more

Snacks, drinks and prizes throughout the night.

8) Themes?

Ans: Several themes have been suggested for the event. These and others will be discussed and decided upon by the Grad students (after Spring Break). More to come.

9) Can people leave and get back in at the event?

Ans: No. Once a Grad leaves the event, they will not be allowed back into the event.

9) Food and Drinks?

Ans: Food and drinks are very important! Many options will be made available throughout the night.

10) Photo Booths?

Ans: Many photography opportunities are being planned for the event.

11) Activities?

Ans: Several activities have been suggested by Grad students. These and others are being considered by the committee.

12) Other suggestions?

Ans: Please share any planning thoughts or ideas you may have about Promfest, by emailing the Grad Fest Committee at npssgradfest@gmail.com . Planning surveys will be forwarded after Spring Break. We look forward to hearing from you!
